Currently we... :: use Green Power (100% wind power) :: recycle, reuse and reduce :: ensure landfill hazards such as e-waste :: invest in ethical superannuation :: cycle to meetings when feasible :: are aiming for zero landfill :: switch off instead of standby :: use energy saving lightbulbs :: use low-flow tapware |
||||||
:: investigate all repair and upgrade options :: use only biodegradable cleaning products :: avoid disposable products :: seek suppliers with similar goals, locally if possible :: buy chemical free foods :: divert organic waste from landfill In addition ... :: Natural paints were used when renovating the studio :: We run this blog to encourage change: http://sustainabilityhallofshame.wordpress.com |

Unless you become a subsistence farmer, sustainability is all about minimising your use of resources and making better choices. It is most definitely not about carrying on as usual and buying carbon offsets. It's a puzzle to me why genuine sustainability isn't already on the agenda of every marketing meeting, shareholder meeting and product planning session. It often saves money, improves morale and has other wide ranging benefits for society as a whole. When we work together, sustainability will be on our agenda. Not dominant, and not as a novelty, but taking its rightful place alongside budget, timeline, target market and all the other factors we consider as a matter of course. |
